I am a versatile communications professional with a multifaceted background spanning public relations, media, writing, and sports research. With experience as a PR Advisor, Collectibles Specialist, Author, Freelance Writer, and Communications Manager, I bring a unique blend of strategic insight, creative storytelling, and subject matter expertise.

My work as an Online Sports Journalist and Football Researcher further demonstrates my ability to craft engaging content and deliver informed analysis to diverse audiences. Passionate about clear communication and compelling narratives, I excel in roles that require analytical thinking and creative flair.

Invest Essex 

2017 to 2020

PR advisor to Invest ESSEX, the inward investment and business support agency. Also responsible for assisting Invest ESSEX’s clients; ranging from entrepreneurs and SMEs to large corporations. When Invest ESSEX closed in 2020, I then took on similar freelance duties for 'Back To Business Essex'.

2014 to date

Collectibles specialist (author, journalist, advisor), including collaborations with Panini, Topps, Tap ‘N’ Play, Futera and Sorare. I have written articles about, and been quoted on, sports collectibles around the world (newspapers/magazines/TV/radio/online/podcasts).

 

My Essex Retro Football Show (first event held in September 2023) is heavily influenced by my work in sports collectibles.

2011 to date

Author of five books to date (60 Classic Essex Matches, Stuck On You, Living A Fan’s Adventure Tale, Panini Football Stickers - The Official Celebration, Panini Legends) with another due for publication in March 2026 – specialising in the nostalgia market.

Freelance writer/PR, Self-employed

2009 to date

Regular stints as sub-editor/reporter/tournament guide writer for International Cricket Council (ICC) website, including chief reporter for 2009 World T20 and reporter/sub-editor for 2012 World T20. Also spent a season as chief sub-editor on the official Indian Premier League (IPL) website. I have written copy for a whole host of company websites in various industries as well as being published in numerous magazines and online. Various PR advisory roles for professional cricketers, SMEs and for my own books (generating extensive local, national and global coverage).

Editor, Big Hitter Magazine

2009 to 2010

Launched my own cricket magazine, aimed primarily at fans of Asian cricket. Sold in WH Smith and other major newsagent outlets, achieving critical acclaim and featuring interviews with many of the biggest names in cricket of the era (Sachin Tendulkar, Murali, Shahid Afridi, MS Dhoni, VVS Laxman and so on)

2003 to 2014

Communications Manager from 2003 to 2008 (incorporating website editor, publications editor, Matchday Manager at all first-team games, Media Event/Press Conference organiser, PR for club and individual players and many more roles in between). Freelance editorial services to Essex County Cricket Club from 2009-2014. Editor of Essex Cricket Yearbook from 2004-2014 plus Essex Cricket Members’ Magazine, Matchday Programmes, Tournament Guides, Report & Accounts etc. I returned to contributing nostalgia content for the Essex Cricket website in 2023.
